Earth Day:
If your in NYC head up to Central Park and check out artist Paul Kostabi and 1,000 strangers as they create the largest Green Mural. The paint is called "milk paint," which is a 6000 year old all-natural recipe.
Also awesome- Matt Pond PA is playing.
Record Day:
If you're not in the mood to head uptown, you should check out Other Music, one of my favortie indie record stores in the city. Throughout the day they'll have limited vinyl singles and EPs from the likes of Vampire Weekend (I'm sorry, I am still not sick of them), the Breeders, Stephen Malkmus and Built to Spill.
They will also have some great bands playing DJ sets:
Tapes 'N Tapes: 12:30 to 2PM
BLACK KEYS: 2 to 3PM
DEAD MEADOW: 3 to 4PM
CHRIS (GRIZZLY BEAR) & MOSES (DEERHUNTER): 4 to 5PM
